Search Oracle Docs from Firefox

Eddie Awad has developed a Firefox search plugin for the Oracle documentation ... see his blog entry for details.

Nice job Eddie, thanks for that.

A search plugin is also available for AskTom ... does anyone have a link to it?

Goto AskTom, links I like, then page down all the way to the bottom (#18)

or http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950:4:1567306291670384873::NO

Hi,

Dunno if you already saw this:

http://www.dbforumz.com/-Firefox-users-Metalink-search-toolbar-ftopict178480.html

I wrote a Firefox plugin for metalink. It worked with Firefox 1.00, but I had to de-intall Firefox, so I've not had a chance to test with the newer releases.

I've also got search strings to search Metalink for MS Deskbar and the IE Address box. If you're interested in those drop me a mail.

Another easy way is to directly search from the address bar, instead of going to search field:

Just bookmark the following link and add a keyword, say 'asktom':

http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/search?p_string=%s

Thats it!!! Search Ask Tom like:

asktom dbms_sql
asktom outer join

Similarly, you can do that for Oracle Doc search. I've posted this on Eddie Award's blog on Firefox plugin. See 11th comment.
