A Dose of Stupidity

Natural selection is a fine thing, but when a person's stupidity and arrogance takes someone else's life we can only hope that there will be some serious repurcussions.

No helmet, no protective gear, and 85mph in a 35mph zone on a new machine? At the very least I hope this guy got skinned well enough that he'll need a helmet to get women to look at him in future.

David,

I fully agree. As we discussed at HotSos, I ride a Yamaha R1 both on street and on track. I leave the racing to the track. From the article it sounds like it was an inexperienced rider as well. What a stupid tragedy.

See stuff like this all the time, Marines back from the war (or first time on their own) go wild. This one was right in front of CHP and federal agents standing around the checkpoint.

I'm sure you've heard the term squid.

Yup ... it's a good idea that the military requires its personnel (and other govt employees and contractors) to take the MSF basic course before riding a motorbike on base, but that doesn't stop 'em from loading up on 160hp machines and killing themselves off-base.
