More Security For You Sir.

http://www.computerworld.com/securitytopics/security/story/0,10801,110880,00.html

Looks like some kind of security administrator role being introduced. $20,000 per CPU or $400 per user seems a littlesteep to me though.

Are they releasing a product to lock down "Oracle Database Vault" administrators?

You don't want them to have the ability to reduce security levels for DBAs unless they conspire...

And what a bout...

Cheers

It's the same as that which we currently use for DBA's -- a smack round the head and simultaneous kick up the arse, possibly in the direction of the exit.

Wheels within wheels, circles within circles etc.

I watched a viewlet of this on Oracle's site. They were using the SYSTEM user and stressed having the DBA role. I wonder if "connect / as sysdba" is immune?
